Rules

2020 Clash In Keizer Tournament Rules

Game Time:

All games will consist of two 22 minute running time halves. The clock will stop in the last 30 seconds of the half, and the last two minutes of the game unless the lead is greater than 15 points.

If the lead is 15 points or greater, the clock will continue to run and there is no back court defense or half-court trapping.

Warm-ups/Half-time:

Every team will have 5 minutes to warm up before each game(more if time allows.) Half-time will be five minutes, unless we are behind schedule. In this case, we may limit half-time to two or three minutes

Game Balls:

Team must provide their own game balls. All grades will use a 28.5 ball except for the 7th and 8th grade boys (29.5)

Overtime:

If the game is tied at the end of regulation time, we will play one two minute stop-time overtime. If the game is still tied after overtime, we will then begin with a jump ball and the first team to score is the winner. (“sudden victory”)

Timeouts:

Each team will receive 3 full timeouts per game. These do not carry over into overtime. Each team will receive one timeout in overtime. If we go into “sudden victory” each team will again receive one final timeout

Scorekeepers:

The McNary High School basketball program is providing score clock operators for this weekend as a fundraiser for their program. Please keep in mind that these kids are volunteering their time. Please have your team’s score keeper sit at the score table to help head off any potential mistakes. If you don’t have your score keeper sitting at the table, we will not listen to any complaints regarding the score on the scoreboard.
